Gameplay
Territory War Online gameplay is turn-based, which means that the opposing players take turns moving one character at a time and then attacking. Each player may move one character per turn, and the character that moves cycles with each turn (on the first turn, character 1 moves, and then on the next turn character 2 moves, and so on). Eight different weapons are available, each with a certain amount of ammunition - based on the number of stick men in the game - and damage properties.

Game Modes
Territory War Online offers two different gameplay modes: Challenge Mode and Player vs. Player.
Challenge Mode
Challenge Mode does not incorporate these Player vs. Player features. Rather, the player completes "target practice" events with either the rifle or the grenade. Challenges 1-3 are with the grenade, where the player needs to throw the grenade through a ring. Challenges 4-6 are with the rifle, where the player shoots at targets. The targets get smaller as the challenge level increases, and at the highest level (3 and 6 respectively) the targets also move. The player is awarded different colored trophies (gold, silver, or bronze) based on how quickly he or she can complete each challenge.
Player vs. Player
Player vs. Player is exactly as the title suggests, one player fights against another. This can be done with two people on one computer (Offline Mode), or with two people on two different computers (Online Mode). Each player has a pre-determined amount of time to complete a move (either 15 seconds, 30 seconds, 45 seconds, or infinite time). During their turn, the player can move each character a fixed distance, and then either attack or allow their opponent to move. Each team can consist of up to six characters, and the game is over when all of the characters on one team are eliminated. Each character starts out with 100 HP, lose health as they get hit by weapons.

Stages
- The Island II - A remake of "The Island," a stage from the original Territory War. The left side of the map is low-lying with a platform and otherwise relatively flat land. While the right side of the map varies in elevation, though most of the player's men will start on a sloping hill which is a grenade hazard. The most played map as it is displayed as the stage of choice.
- Castle - A relatively symmetrical map. A favorite of strategists, who devise many complicated schemes for victory on this stage.
- Crystal Cavern - An underground cavern made of, you guessed it, crystals. Contains rough terrain and many holes in which a grenade can fall. On Crystal Cavern, you never know where your grenade will end up! A favorite of players who prefer to use skill instead of complex strategies.
- Volcano - A stage based on the outside rim of a volcano. Contains molten lava, which kills any player who touches it. Both teams start on the high ground, allowing for an interesting high flying match.
- The Void II - The successor to the original "Void" stage from the original Territory War, except with a twist. While it is still based in outer space, the Void II is not one stage. Instead it is one of 5 randomly selected stages, making for a fresh battle every time.
- The Jungle - One of the two "new" stages. Based in a thick jungle (who would have guessed) it contains one long, thing "rope" connecting the almost identical sides. Based on a design by Beatdown15.
- The Pit - The second of the "new" stages. While some other stages may be close to the same on both sides, this stage goes beyond that. The right is the mirror image of the left, creating the most balanced of all maps. Based (loosely) on a design by Shadowcasterx4ffc, wether he knows it or not.
