The Citation Needed flag can be put after information which requires a citation. It's better to go and look for a citation than leave it with the flag.

Use sparingly, as it will break the flow of an article if overused.

Example: Humans mostly eat grass.^{[Citation Needed]}

In articles about living persons, information should always have a source, so information without a source should be deleted or have a source found for it, rather than have the Citation Needed flag applied.
