Storyline and Game-play

First day in Stick RPG.

The main objective of the game is to live life as a stick figure and master many obstacles in hopes of becoming renowned in the stick figure world.

The game is start out by picking your stick figure's name and the statistics of how much charm, strength, and intelligence you will have. Afterward, the goes enters a brief introduction before launching you into the new stick world. You start out in the actual game-play with $100, 2/3 of a day, an empty inventory, and the job title of McSlave, meaning you are a McSticks employee.

As the game progresses, depending on your decisions, you can gradually work your way to the top and become one of the most powerful sticks in the community.

Home

You start out in an empty, cheap apartment from the start of the game with nothing but a bed and an answering machine, which has one message on it—from McSticks saying you've got the job—when you first enter.

Money

There are several ways to get money on this game. You start out by either spending a couple days in McSticks and concurrently raising your intelligence for a higher job at New Lines Incorporated, or by gambling. The initial is more recommended and raises karma, which is a key element in this game.

Charm, Strength, and Intelligence

All of them are required for certain things. It's best to raise them all.

To raise your charm level, you can either go to the bar and drink or smoke cigarettes, which can be bought from the convenience store.

For strength, you can either get into bar fights, which can be harmful or lethal to you, or work out at the Stick University. The latter is recommended until you get your strength high up.

Again, Stick University is essential to raise intelligence. This promotes good karma, which is always good.

Stick RPG Complete

On March 28, 2005, an updated Stick RPG was released entitled Stick RPG Complete. It included a lot of missing features its predecessor didn't have, including an abandoned car next to your first apartment waiting for someone to hotwire, access to the furniture store and bus depot, ability to buy real estate, rob a bank, buy bottles of beer, a new roulette table at the casino, and much more.

With the ability to buy real estate, you can work your way from an apartment all the way to a full-fledged castle. It takes much work at the game, however, to accomplish this.

Additionally, because of your new ability to access the bus depot, the drug dealer next to the convenience store and pawn shop from the previous game is no longer futile. You may use the commodities you buy from him to sell in other cities by traveling through the bus depot. However, there are certain tasks and objectives you must accomplish and achieve before being able to do that effectively.

Sequel Game

A sequel game was announced and a website put up for it in mid-2003, despite Stick RPG not even being complete yet. Gradually, the game's artist Stuart Hart released more scoop—in the form of screen shots, concept sketches, production art, renders, and other media—and as time passed.

On November 2, 2003, they released a public trailer of the game on Newgrounds depicting better quality graphics and more advanced game-play than its predecessor. This launched the hope of many XGen fans.

On March 22, 2005, well passed the promised release date, XGen released the combat systems demo of Stick RPG 2 in order to resurrect the hope that was lost over the prolonged period of time without updates or feedback. It was originally hosted on the XGen's site but was taken down subsequently. It still remains on Newgrounds here.

On May 1, 2005, Stuart Hart requested fan-made graffiti art to be plastered all over the Stick RPG 2 world. The designs picked were released in the ensuing months, however, the file is no longer viewable.

On October 28, 2005, Stick Arena was announced and confirmed by the artist Stuart Hart that it was indeed based off the Stick RPG 2 combat system.

On November 7, 2007, it was announced that Stick RPG 2 was officially put on hold and that the graphics were about 60-70% completed. For almost three years the project remained on hold, with almost no hope of being revived or concluded, much to the fans' dismay.

On April 1, 2010, XGen Studios re-announced SRPG2 as once again "underway". The SRPG2 website was updated with an ID card of a stick man named "oliver", the card also showed Charm, Karma, Intelligence, Strength and Age. It also had "Achievements" but these have not been commented on. The SRPG2 forum was once again opened up with members to make new threads and posts. As of now XGen has not released any date of release and little to no comments about features in the game.
