Sports Bar

The Sports Bar, created by Kerry and Vagrant, was made in late September of 2005. This now publicized group used to be a private forum section, only for those who applied and were accepted to be allowed in; the leaders were np v2.0 and Shadow Crest.

Here members discussed the happenings of the sporting world; XCash bets often occurred whenever a significant game or event was happening, but as XGen does not support currency as of now, bets are rare to see.

While the group stayed decently active throughout its four years as a private forum, users began to discuss the lack of activity in March of 2009, in this thread. While they attempted to make it more lively, the Sports Bar was gradually losing the active support of members. In late July of 2009, chejrw made the thread that decided the fate of the club. Over five days of voting (Options: New Leadership - stay private, Move to Community Section - be public, or Archive and Disband - sports topics move to Off-Key) the members unanimously chose to make the club public.

As a whole, the Sports Bar has about 3 posts per day, if that. Die hard Sports Fans, a rarity on the forums, flock here, but even now the Sports Bar seems to be living its last days. Some members such as Evil penguin, np v2.0, and denacioust have tried to revive the Sports Bar and get a conversation going, but have not succeeded. Several fantasy leagues are started in the Sports Bar, with the most popular being the Fantasy Football challenge. However, even these have fallen to inactivity.
