Shoutbox

The forum has, at various time in its history, had a variety of ShoutBox systems. These provide a place on the main forum page where users are able to post short messages that are not part of any particular thread, topic, or discussion. It's often used to post greetings, or ask quick questions. Recently, the ShoutBox has been removed.
ShoutBox Rules
The ShoutBox follows the same rules as the forum found here with the added notice that the ShoutBox is for small talk and that questions should be asked in their respective forum. Additionally, double posting is allowed, but no more than three consecutive messages, as any more than that will be marked as spam.
When a user is banned from the ShoutBox as a result of rule misconduct, the ShoutBox becomes invisible as it is when a user is not logged in, for example. Being banned rarely results in a ban in the forum, but it may depending on the severity of the offense. The same applies for the infraction points received for breaking the rules.
Clemency appeals and unban requests for the ShoutBox can be made at the ShoutBox Unban Request thread.
