Scholars Club

The Scholars Club was an exclusive User Group of the XGen Studios Forums that was created for the sole purpose of serious, intelligent discussions. Members had to apply to join, although the forum was viewable by anyone, and admittance was rather easy.

History

The Scholars Club was thought up and proposed by Scornic with the help of Hex on 01-08-2008, and lasted nearly three months until 03-29-2008. It sparked many intelligent conversations for a short time, notably the evolution/creationism discussion here, before dying down and being archived with several other groups, including the Artist's_Loft.

Controversy

The Scholars Club was met with massive support and massive opposition. Many members loved the idea of a safe haven from spammers, that was easily accessible. Other members, however, saw it as an attempt to mirror The Elites, or simply a power trip. There was a large amount of conflict between Scornic and Chejrw over the group, and a lot of false accusations were made by Scornic^{[Citation Needed]}

. The Scholars Club may have had noble intentions, but it was the cause of a great amount of drama.
