Prole

Prole, short for Proletariat, is a term used to identify the middle and lower class of XGen. Forumers register as proles, and if they are competent enough to stand out from the crowd, they could possibly be upgraded to an Elite. Proles differentiate from the Elites in that they don't have their own club. Some claim however that Spammer Land is the Prole's parallel to the Elite's Elite Club (private group for only Elites).
Who are the Proles?
The majority of Spammer Land posters are Proles; all Stick Arena and other game forum posters are Proles; about three quarters of the active Irrelevance posters are Proles. An estimation of about 93% of the active community is comprised of Proles.[Citation Needed]
History
The term Prole was introduced by Justin to the forum on November 15, 2006, in this thread (located in the Elites Club). He was reading George Orwell's 1984 at the time. The term quickly became popular on the forum, and has been in use ever since.
Few people get offended by the term, others don't take very much notice, although recently, due to the Prole sig trend, people have started taking the name "Prole" as their own. Some members (both Proles and Elites) used a signature containing the word "Prole" on the left, and the triangle which is used to illustrate the hierarchy of Proles and Elites on the right, which was flipped upside-down so that the Proles section of the triangle is on top. The sig reads "Hope lies in the Proles", a paraphrased quote from the book 1984.
