Post Reports

A post report is a way a user can report a post that breaks the forum rules. When the report button is clicked, the user is taken to a new page and is required to write why they reported the post and then submit it.You do not need to include a link to the thread as it is automatically inserted.
Old style
Previously, all post reports were emailed directly to every moderator and administrator of the forums, creating messy inboxes and no way to see if the report has been tended to. This was, however, when the volume of reported posts was much lower than it is today.
Today's style
Now, there is a Reports forum in the Administrative category (viewable only by moderators,assistant moderators and administrators) where all reports are posted. Each report is given a unique thread, and if a post is reported by more than one member, the thread is bumped with the additional report. Narcbot, our post reports and greetings bot, is the main poster in the reports forum. It is customary to close the thread in the Reports forum so other moderators and administrators know if the report has been, or is being tended to.
