FAQ

Q: What does PtV mean?

PtV means 'Pillage the Village' - the new game by XGenstudios.com

Q: How do I play?

Gameplay is similar to Defend Your Castle. Pick up a villager, and hurl him skyward with a flick of your mouse. He will come hurtling back to earth and splatter against the ground.

Q: How do I kill The Blue guys?

Throw them up in the air. When they are parachuting down, click their parachute to rip it. Then throw them again, without thier chute, they will splatter like a peasant.

Q: The red guys?

The red guys have gliders. Throw them in the air, then grab them while they are gliding. Instead of throwing them up, throw them down into the ground. If you throw hard enough, their wings will break off and they will slam into the ground

Q: The disappearing black/red thieves?

There are several strategies. First, you can stun them by dropping a house or rock on them. Then, while stunned, you can toss them skyward. Alternatively, you can wait until their are climbing the side and grab them then. They take more than one hit to kill

Q: Other enemies?

The Superhero guys take 3-4 hits to kill, nothing special. Just keep slamming away

Q: How do you kill the white ninjas?

The jumping guy has no special abilities, he's just hard to grab and moves fast.

Q: How do you kill the jetpack guy?

Patience, grasshopper.

Q: Knights?

Just throw them twice when they're done swinging.

Q: How do I cast spells?

Click the 'spells' tab at the bottom corner, select the spell. Your cursor will change to show what spell you are casting. Simply click a peasant or a place on the map to initiate the spell. You can also hold space to use gesture casting.

Q: Which side should I choose? Light? Or Dark?

Part of it's your personal preference, but part of it is the different abilities. Myself, I enjoy pacifist. It makes things really easy to do. The time freeze is really useful when the knights start coming out.

Q: Omg, I can't pick things up!

Is there a knight on the screen? If so, he cut your finger off. Try to get him when he's done swinging his big sword.

Q: What are the game units? Or, what are the names of the villagers?

Peasant - Ike Parachuter - Fly Mcleod Thief - Johnny Pockets Hang Glider - Wright Wrigley Hero - Brock Danger Ninja - Sneaky Pete Knight - Horatio Swordsimo Rocketeer - Rocky Ramiro

Q: What are those giant bowling balls/idol heads for?

Throw them around, they have a huge radius, and knock around most of the characters on the screen when tossed. Same goes for houses. Sometimes the bowling balls can get in the way though, whereas houses will destroy after rolling for a certain amount of time.

Q: How do I save?

Once you have passed level 3 and destroyed the entire village, you are given the option to save.

Q: What the heck? All these units pop out of the houses all at once! How do I deal with it?

Personally, I try slave caging or anvilling the second before I pick up the house, that way I get all those pesky units without risking losing points/traps.

Q: Wait, you mentioned you didn't need euthanasia or power gloves to kill gliders?

Yes, I did. If you time it right, you can throw them at the ground to kill them. Same goes for rocketmen. Parachuters, however, will always survive until the parachute is ripped. You can throw all units at the ground to kill them, but this requires more concentration and active time on your part.

Q: What is New Game +?

New game plus uses one of your old saves, and starts a new game with all your abilities, money, and stats.

Q: What is Sandbox Mode?

Sandbox mode is an area to test things out for yourself.

Q: Too many guys at one time!

Consider getting freeze time or constrain area.
