Infractions

Infractions are issued by the moderators when users breaks the Forum Rules. They are also known as "Red Card" warnings due to the icon displayed in a user's profile when they've received an infraction point.
Infraction Points are accrued whenever users are issued an infraction by the Forum Moderators. As these points accumulate, a user is banned for increasing lengths of time. Most infractions carry a single point, however, certain severe rule violations carry more than one. For instance, circumventing the forum's profanity filter carries an automatic 2-point infraction. Creating multiple accounts bypasses the point system and gives the user a permanent ban.
Types and Penalties
There are two types of infractions a Moderator may issue to a forum member.

Warnings are issued by the Forum Moderators when users break the Forum Rules. They are also known as "Yellow Cards" due to the yellow card icon displayed in a user's profile. A key difference between Infractions and Warnings is that Warnings do not accumulate Infraction Points, and so do not result in users being banned. In this sense, a user can accumulate an infinite number of Warnings without any immediate repercussions. In practise, repeat offences usually warrant an infraction.
Warnings are usually issued to new users who may not be aware they violated the forum rules.
Bans are suspensions from using the forums. They are issued by moderators or administrators for offensive posting or otherwise inappropriate behavior. Minor offenses do not come with a ban, instead, they result in a warning and do not increase the total infraction points. More serious acts against the rules are punished by an infraction or an immediate permanent ban. However, repeated infractions are double the usual infraction, and carry double the usual ban length. Excessive infractions are triple (or more) of same.
A banned member's signature will be hidden and their user title will be replaced with "Banned." In some cases, a member's avatar will also be veiled, though only to some.
