Forum Moderators
From XgenWiki
The XGen forum currently has 11 Forum Moderators, in addition to two Forum Administrators. These individuals are responsible for responding to Post Reports, issuing Warnings and Infractions, and generally maintaining order. They have the power to ban users either temporarily or permanently, delete and edit posts, move posts and threads, and various other administrative powers. They also have access to the exclusive Moderator's Lounge forum.

How can you become a Forum Moderator?
It is extremely difficult to become a forum moderator. Although there are no specific requirements, generally one has to be an active member of the forum for several years, be respected by the majority of the forum community (particularly the current moderators and long-time users of the forum), have a clear record, free of Infractions or Warnings, post using excellent spelling and grammar on the forum, and generally show exceptional maturity and responsibility. Submitting a large number of Post Reports is also a good way to boost your chances of being selected as a Forum Moderator.
Moderator Selection Process
A formal application process is conducted each time new moderators are required on the forum, which will be announced in the General forum section (See: this thread for a recent example). Basic eligibility criteria such as a nominal post count and join date requirement will be used to initially 'weed out' users who have no realistic chance of being selected and thus reducing the total number of applications to a manageable level. Once applications are received, they are reviewed by the Forum Administrators and narrowed down to the 5-10 most likely candidates, who are then voted on by the current Forum Moderators. This process can take up to 3 months. Due to the time consuming process of collecting applications, reviewing and verifying the information in them, vetting applicants, and voting on them, Moderator applications are held very infrequently (there's no exact time frame, when new mods are needed an application thread is set up).
