Flaming
From XgenWiki
Flaming is a general term used all over the internet which means the act of insulting someone severely. Flaming results in an infraction on the forums when caught doing so, which may or may not result in a ban, depending on the number of infractions the said member has accumulated.
Some examples of flaming include, but are not limited to:
- Insulting race
- Insulting religion
- Insulting members who aren't in an exclusive group (See Category:Exclusive_Groups)
- Extreme name-calling
- Extreme insults (using the word nigger to insult someone ties in with Insulting race, and typically results in a more severe ban and/or high number of infraction points given)
- Offensive orders (as in "Go kill yourself!" or "Go commit account suicide!" etc.)
- Insinuations (a hint or slight suggestion of something negative about someone)
All of these can result in receiving an infraction. The smartest thing to do rather than flame and/or flame back is to report the offending post to the moderators for punitive action.

Reasons Flaming Is Prohibited
Flaming is not encouraged because it creates a hostile environment where users are afraid to express their views for fear of being flamed. The same applies for trolling.
How You Can Prevent Flaming
Forums
Most of the time flaming is caused by a misunderstanding between two or more individuals or when someone randomly insults you for no reason. There really isn't a precise way to end it on the forums. What you can do, however, is either ignore them via the ignore feature on the forums (by adding users to your ignore list) or report their offensive posts.
Just remember that it's best to not give in to insults because it can land you a ban or infraction as well.
Stick Arena
Typically, the insults present here are not as severe or threatening as on the forums because all of it usually originates from an unfair game, a victory, loss, or the fact that one player is a higher level rank. Most players upon being flamed tend to insult back. This can be a problem and can also stir hostility within the lobbies of Stick Arena. The best thing to do is to use the ignore feature (type out /ignore and then the user name of player who is flaming or annoying you). Being the fact that there is no ignore feature in-game Stick Arena (when you're playing rounds and such), you would have to manually ignore them by simply not reading their messages or not typing back. This will assure them that you do not care about what they are saying, and thus, they will leave seeing as insulting you is absolutely futile. However, if they continue, and it still seems to be bothering or provoking you, the second best thing to do would be to just leave the game. You may feel like a wimp or loser, but you would be the better man to walk away than to arouse the situation even more.
Another alternative to flaming in the lobbies of Stick Arena is getting the attention of an in-game moderator. Flamers usually end up with a ban when they are caught insulting others in sight of a moderator.
Just remember that these solutions can save you from a ban or another problem with an individual that could be anything in regards to insulting and trolling.
