Assistant Moderators

Assistant Moderators are users that have powers similar to that of a forum moderator. They can edit threads and user's posts, as well as a user's signature and avatar, if necessary. However, they only have these powers in a certain section of the forums (Blixinator is the current assistant moderator for Motherload, for example), so they are essentially an assigned moderator. They do not have the power to ban other users; that is left to the forum moderators.

History

Sometime in 2005, Destructive was given the first assistant moderator position in the Stick Arena forum for his helpful posts. Soon thereafter, he was given full super moderator status and has been since.

On May 14, 2009, Justin asked in this thread for interested users to send in applications explaining why they believed they should become an assistant moderator. The results were announced on June 3, 2009. These forum members picked were Scornic to moderate the Brotherhood of Battle forum, Blixinator to moderate the Motherload forum, Grunty to moderate the Stick RPG forum, and Shadowcasterx4ffc to moderate the Stick Arena - Ballistick forum.

On November 19, 2009, Justin asked specifically for applications for forum moderators rather than assistant moderators as done initially. The results were announced on the 12th of December, Scornic and DarkReality being the new members of the team. Additionally, Dragon was given the assistant moderator status for the Stick Arena - Ballistick forum as well.

As of recently on March 1, 2010, Grunty resigned his assistant moderator position and requested a lengthy ban in order to study for his ACT and Exams.

Moderation Powers

Assistant Moderators can perform actions on threads and edit a user's post, signature, and avatar. Unlike the super moderators, they do not have the ability to ban or issue warnings or infractions to forum members. Below are the specifics of their abilities.

Threads

Assistant Moderators can perform the following actions on threads:

Delete/Undelete threads
Open/Close threads
Stick/Unstick threads
Move threads to other forums (for example, a thread in the Motherload forum can be moved by an assistant moderator to the Newb's Help Forum forum, provided that the assistant moderator is only assigned to moderate the Motherload forum)
- Note that Assistant Moderators can only move threads out of their assigned forum, not in, as that would require moderation privileges in the forum the post came from.

Posts

Assistant Moderators can perform the following actions on posts:

Merge two or more posts into one
Move posts to a new or pre-existing thread
Copy posts to a new or existing thread
Delete/Undelete posts

Users

Assistant Moderators can perform the following actions on users:

Edit a user's avatar
Edit a user's signature
