Forum Name Changes

Once per year, the forum administrators allow users to make minor changes to their usernames, or revert their usernames to ones they used previously.

Approximately 2 weeks in advance, a thread will be posted in General, giving the details and rules of the upcoming name change period. Name change requests must be sent via email during a specified period of time (usually also 2 weeks). Requests sent outside that time period will be denied.

Not all users qualify for name changes. Users with too many Infraction Points are ineligible for a name change. Since infraction points now expire after one year, these users will be eligible for a name change the following year provided they follow the Forum rules. Additionally, new users to the forum, and users who have very few posts are not eligible for name changes.

The Annual Name Change period normally takes place in mid to late October each year.
