"What Are You Listening to Right Now" Thread

A thread created in 2004 in the Music forum where the purpose is to post the current music you are listening to. The thread can be found here. It is one of the most popular and most posted in threads of the forums.

The shift of merely posting artist and song changed to album covers around 2008. It is a theory that a forum member can be indirectly encouraged into listening to the album or group based on the album art work.

Around late 2009 chejrw moved this thread to the Off-Key section of Spammer Land due to many complaints that members were abusing the thread to inflate their post counts. Despite this, the thread remains to be active with many current contributors such as by Alice Cooper, ssgtGrimReaper, Mr. Anderson, e_p, MushroomMammoth and criticism.

General discussions about music are often stirred, and are encouraged to stimulate the cultural knowledge of an XGen forum-goer.
